2 The honest maths

Don't burn Friday morning chasing pennies

Cash-for-clothes shops pay a fraction of resale, and the queue eats your day. Sort fast: the two or three genuine designer pieces → consignment (CSD) or list on Vestiaire; a bag of good high-street → Retro Woman for whatever cash they offer; everything else → straight to a charity shop or textile bank. Clearing the flat is worth more to you Friday than squeezing out an extra £20.

3 Call ahead (2-minute script)

"Hi — do you buy second-hand clothes over the counter today, and do you pay cash on the spot or by consignment?"

"Roughly how many pieces will you look at, and are there brands you won't take?"

"What are your hours today — and is there a cut-off for drop-offs?"

Saves a wasted trip if they're appointment-only or closing early.
