2 The mattress — don't

Challenge: shipping the matelas loses money

It's priced on volumetric weight and capped at 30 kg per item. A standard double (≈190×140×25 cm) computes to ~130 kg volumetric — it'll be refused or billed as several items, realistically £150–250+. A new foam mattress in France is ~€70–130. Sleep on it Friday night, then give it away for free collection (Olio / Freecycle / Nextdoor) on Saturday morning before handover, or book Westminster bulky-waste collection in advance.
